Hello, Mr White.

Close your eyes and see the sky is falling.

Ok, it's snowing, but it always feels funny when you wake up in the morning and the first snow covers everthing outside the window.

I like mornings like this, even if it means that traffic is pure chaos. When I was driving to work today I wasn't really pissed of by traffic chaos, because the snow made me feel like nothing could be so bad as to make me feel bad.

So, let it snow, let it snow, let snow!

a 'monday' like no other.

Sry, but I really like this pic. Itsn't it better than any boring progressbar?

So here comes what I really wanted to say. I am a bit confused. It is monday - ok in fact it is thursday, but it feels like monday. Isn't that funny?

Ok in fact it is kind of wired to have two days that feel like monday in one week. Who this could happen? Easy. Yesterday was a hollyday. I like hollydays at the middle of a week.

Usually these 'monday' don't feel so extremly like a real monday, but this one does. So let's hope that this friday tomorrow will feel like a nice short friday!

A few thoughts running through my mind:
If I go crazy, will you still call me superman? - thx to three doors down.

Halloween Horror Story - Chapter 2

Good evening children.

Halloween is just a night away so it's getting time for me to tell you another horror story for bringing you in the right mood.

This story is called

THE BANE OF "DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME"

It all began saturday evening. I went to town with some friends to have a drink or two. (ok, maybe I had more than just two drinks, but who cares)
I got home at 2AM unsuspecting that something strange will happen very soon. I was very tired so I felt asleep very soon.
As I opened my eyes at sunday morning my big analog clock on the wall in front of me told me that it was 11:00AM. I didn't really cared about it, but as I saw my cell-phone I was a bit confused. It told me that it was 10:00AM. A nother look at my analog clock on the wall approved my suspicion.

SOMETHING HAS MANIPULATED THE TIME-WARP-CONTINUUM!!!!!

Maybe I am trapped in a time-trap. Maybe I made a time travel during I was asleep!

WHAT HAPPANED TO ME!!!

I tried to find some more clocks to look what time they showed me. They all told me that it is an hour to early. I was nearly getting crazy.

So I asked my best friend - Google - for help.
What I found out was even more horrific. In 1907 someone called William Willett wrote an essay with the title "The Waste of Daylight". Because of this a lot of countries decided to create the so called "Daylight-saving-time". This means that time is different in summer than in winter. Two times a year (ones in spring and ones in fall) clocks are jumping an hour forward or backward.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THEY ARE STEALING TIME FROM ME IN SPRING!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! THEY ARE GIVING IT BACK TO ME JUST TWO DAYS BEFORE HALLOWEEN!

WHY?
The official reason is that because of the summer-time you don't need so much electricity because sun shines longer in the evening.
Isn't that stupid? In fact a study shows that we need even more electricity, because of the summer-time, because the heating cost in the morning in the colder month are much higher.

So what is the real reason?
Think about that and happy halloween to all of you!

Halloween Horror Story - Chapter 1

Good evening children.
Halloween is just a few days away, so I think it's getting time to tell you some scary stories to bring you in the right mood for this mystic night.

My first story is about the most evil thing in our food.

GLUTEN

If you don't know what that is, ask wikipedia ( -> Gluten )

A lot of food has a little sentence at the end of the ingridients list.

DOES NOT CONTAIN GLUTEN

So that means gluten are evil.

I think I have to explain this.
If it is worth to tell us that something doesn't contain gluten, it means that it wouldn't be good, if there were some. According to that and because the opposite of good is evil, gluten are evil. I think. *gg*

Now let me tell you about the scary thing that happened to me.
My sister brougth me a chees-corn snack. I was very happy about this. I really like chees.

But suddenly I recognized how evil they are!!!
There was a little warning on the backside, ( A very little warning!!!! ) telling me that there are gluten in it!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Gluten!
THE EVIL GLUTEN ARE GOING TO.....to.... to.................welll...........
..........give me a second...........

What are they going to do? During informing myself about gluten, I found out that there are gluten in a lot of food and if I don't have a genetical failure, they won't do anything.
So................

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! GENETICAL FAILURE!!!!

...oh... sry................... I just wanted to panic again.

So I got nearly killed by a heartattack, because of a little warning on the backside of a chees-corn snack. I think that's really scary. *gg*

Now I have to say good night children. I wish you nice dreams and beware of the gluten-warnings!

suddenly i understand

My girlfriend - also a apprentice of informatics - ones told she wants to get a gardener. Now I understand. during debugging through a VB6 project - the code is extremely confusing - I found a a variable which was probably the worst line of code I've seen.

intÜberIndex = 1

For those of you who aren'tr allready screaming : There is a Ü in this name. You can't use a letter like this in your code! That's not right! But the really shocking thing is, that this programm is in use and works - WITH THIS Ü IN IT!

It's so crazy. I am really upset now.

I want a pony, daddy! - YOU GET A MUSTANG

Thx Sun! Even if the name MUSTANG isn't correct anymore, it makes me very happy to hear that Sun brings out JAVA 6 in the first week of December this year! This is my xmas present from sun. I am really looking forward to it, because I heard so many rumors about it and how many cool features it should include.

According to Sun the release was planned for October, but there are some bugs that have to be fixed, Sun tells us.
I am not sad about the release-date beeing moved, because I prefer a stabel and well tested version.
So thank you Sun for making me such a great present for x-mas. I think I will like this toy!

Go-Live

I don't care if your world is ending today...

...Because I wasn't invited to it anyway... ... I don't really care what gentlemen prefer...

Good Job!

Demotiviert. 2.033.941 Sekunde bis es endlich vorbei ist!
Zu lange.

so this is real?

941, 942, 943, langsam.
Hört mich jemand? nein? egal.
Frage mmich jede Minute wieder warum ich bin wo ich bin - tue was ich tue. Sinnfrei.

Viel zu lange. Vergeudete Zeit. Erinnert mich an Beschäftigungstherapie.

the hole - impressions part2

Here are some more pictures of the building-site in front and at directly in the garden of my families house. Just click the images to enlarge them.

First of all, thats how it look befor they started digging a huge.

Then one day these things appared behind our house. These things alone aren't really a problem but in combination with the fact that we can't enter our gateway by car it is a real big problem. We have 5 cars (one for everyone with a driving license) and we can't use our gateway or the garages to park our cars. So the only place to do so is next to the street behind the house, but unfortunately there is this container and the other stuff from the building site.

During the building process our garden turned into a building site, not usabel for anything anymore and this situation last now for about 2 month.

From time to time they use our gateway as a place to put their building equipment. In fact our gateway shouldn't be used as a part of the building site, that's simply not right. We can't enter it or use it!

During this building process the caused a lot of damage in our gateway, because construction machines were driving through our gateway. I don't think that's the way such a project should work.
Here are some of the damaged things in our gateway and that's a place that shouldn't be influenced by the building process because it has nothing to do with that.

The building site changes everyday, but I think these pictures should show you what chaos it causes everyday.

At the end of this post I just want to say that I am really pissed of about the way this project is done. It is a real big part of living quality for us getting lost, because of no or really bad organisation.

one more morning

Tomorrow I have to stand up for work the last time before my holidays begin. 2 weeks of beeing free of allday manners. I think I need it. My last holiday wasn't just yesterday, I was so far in the past that I can't really remember what I did in this free time.
I think I should write down my plans for this holiday here, so that everybody know why I am not at home.

After work tomorrow I'll take my car and drive to my familie's holiday-house in the moutains for celebrating my moher's birthday.
At sunday I'll leave the holiday-house and get myself to my girlfriend - in fact that means driving from one mountain to another.
There I'll stay untill Tuesday, because on Tuesday me and my girlfriend are going to murau until Thursday. I don't exactly know if I will directly return home again or if I will stay a bit in our holiday-house again, we'll see.

So after that there is still a week in which nothing is planed. That's what I call holiday!

the hole - impressions part1

Here are some pictures of the street and the building-site which I called garden once upon a time. I do not blaim anyone for this. In fact I am very happy about getting a new and stable bridge, but the fact that this takes so long is really annoying.
Just click onto the pictures to enlarge them for getting a better view of what I see every in front of my house.

the hole - introduction

I think I am glad to have a room on the back-side of the house, because I don't want to see how this hole grows everyday.
It all started with an old and unsafe bridge in front of the house I am living in. Now there is hole that's probably 15 times as big as the old bridge was und about 5 times as deep as the tunnel underneath the old bridge. The garden next our gateway is now a building site and even our gateway itself is looking like this and is completly unsuable. I can't enter the gateway by car anymore because the whole street in front of it is missing.
I am pretty pissed of, because of this. To drive to work, shopping or anywhere else I have to use a dirty way through a forrest. This fact costs me about 3 minutes every morning and evening and to piss me on in the morning is really not nice.
I don't know how long it will take till there is a bridge again, and I don't know how much longer it will take till our garden and gateway is usable again. I really hate it. I will post some pictures of the hole in the next few days so you can follow the process of building a huge hole for a bridge that was so little.

future and its details

Yesterday, I heard something that made me thinking about it for hours. In fact I am still thinking about it. This little thing was something like this "...but now you might should know how your life should look like in a few years. You should have plans!"
I am sry, I don't. Of course there were some moments when I was thinking about what life should look like, but these thoughts were mostly about my carrier, not about family or things like this. Since yesterday I also think about things like that. I am no child anymore. It is getting time to make some serious plans about my personal life. At the moment I don't have answers to my question, but I made an interessting discovery. I am not able to make these decissions on my own. No, I don't need somebody to hold my hand. I just think, there is someone who has to make this decissions with me, because if life goes like I want it, than she will be a big part of my future and my future will be her future and vice versa. So I think I will risc it to talk to her about this. I think it's time to do so. To be prepared for that what tomorrow brings us.

messege from home.

I don't really know how late it is at your location right now, but I just got up one and a half hours ago. I am at work just had my first coffee.
I got your sms yesterday and I feel like I have to tell whats going on at home.
The big hole in front of my house gets bigger and bigger everyday - I will post some pictures of it soon. It is nearly impossible to find a place to park my car, because there is building equipment everywhere in my garden and on the street around the house.
You left austria on thoursday, right? So you missed two of the hottest days I can remember. I was nearly melting - you know I like constant 20°C, so 30°C and more the whole day long where too much for me.
My homepage is online again. Just sign up and tell me and the other user in the forum what life is like on the other side of the planet. Feel free to create a new topic for this.
I will reactivate my skype today, because calling each other the normal way could get a bit expensive.

So if you feel like missing home, just look in my blog to see whats going on at home or visit my homepage!

Seas, dude!

heat wave PART 2

I think I've got my own sauna! The office I work in feels like this. Even in the morninghours at 8:00AM or 9:00AM it feels allready hot in there. Now it's half-past 2PM and I really feel like melting away. It is a south-east sided office with windows on each side. It's impossible to keep it cool.

Today the newspaper told me:
"Again temperatures up to more than 30°C"

...and tomorrow it might be even hotter.

I drank allready four bottles of water today, just keep myself from drying. Working like this is really hard, but I think I won't complain if I had holydays now. So let's work on and don't think about the weather.

Friday, July 21, 2006

heat wave

Today the news paper told me something that totally destroyed my hope for the weather to get cold again.

'Record summer like in 2003!' - 'Today's temperatures up to 37°C!'

When I left the house this morning at 7:35AM it was warm like on an nice sommer day at 12:00AM. 20°C.

My body doesn't seem to be able to cope with that very good. I feel like melting away since I stood up! That's a lot to hot for me. I hate it! A little bit of rain would be a very big help for me.

it's all about a dream.

I am not the one that believes that this world is fair or generous, but today this world showed me once again that having a dream and doing everything to make this dream come true is the way that leads to success.

I want to thank everyone who made it possible for me to lead such a life. My my loved sweety for accepting me like I am, my parents for everything they did in the last 19 years, my sisters for forming my character and my friends for beeing what they are.

I am, who I am - as someone called god said once upon a time - because I had the chance.

My live is perfect as it can be. I hope it stays like this.

jackpot

WOW. Yes thats the only thing that came to my mind as I heard what they're planing to do with me. Some time ago, I told a very good friend of mine, that my life is perfect and couldn't get much better. The last hour teached me that this wasn't try. I feel like I've won a million euros! Or even more!
I can't write more I am to excited right now!

mono, stereo, dolby? what am I talking about?

First of all... ...mono. .NET for everyone. I liked programming C#, but since I am using Ubuntu Linux it got a little hard to do, but sudo apt-get install mono monodevelop solved my problem.
MonoDevelop is a very comfortable tool for developing .NET applications using Linux. I think it will take some time for me to get used to it, but it is defenitly possible.

using System;
class HelloWorld {
static void Main() {
Console.WriteLine("Hello World");
}

the source of creativity

Of course this image was not made by me, but it makes me thinking about how creative I can be at the moment. I have to design something new. After beeing offline for so long and so many things that have changed I think i have to create something new. Something that represents my current way of being and the one which it was some month ago.
In fact this sounds easier than it is. My mind is no endless source of great ideas. I think it is just a huge sphere of chaos, but I try to form something cool again. Maybe I will succed maybe not. We'll see.

Thursday, July 06, 2006

tranquillity

My whole life long I was searching for a way to find perfect silence and a possibility to make my self able to see everything clear and logic.
This seeking only gave me one answer: Chaos is the most perfect form of order.
Now I think I maybe got a step closer to my goal of setting my mind free.
I will see if it works. I have nothign to loose, so give it a try.

the thousandth attempt

I hope I will forget this week soon, because in fact it's the worste week I had this year so far. There wasn't something really shocking terrible but the whole situation makes me sick. I don't feel very good since monday. - headache, cold, tired, all the time.
The next frustrating thing is that work is really boring this week. Nothing cool to do just frustrating little things, that don't work at all. I hate it. Standing up in the morning feels like getting shot a thousand times. It's not my time this week. I hope at friday afternoon everything gets better for me.
I really hope so.

Hit by lightning

Of course not really. Stripes of light falling through the half-open shutter of the window next to me, sky is getting blue again.
The thunderstorm is over. It was so impressive. I like watching the heavy rain, storm and the lightnings. The days before yesterday where unbelieveable hot, so this thunderstorm was really necessary. The only negative thing about it was that there was blackout for more than an hour yesterday evening. I hate blackouts, because I need my PC, my laptop, internet and my TV. Ok, my laptop worked, but without internet it is not the same.
My dad pulled out his emergency backup generator but this doesn't help me with my internetproblem either.
So I had to wait an watch the weather. And it was beautiful.

Monday, June 26, 2006

back to my roots

It's again so hot - or better say it's still so hot. I've got a sunburn since yesterday and it hurts like hell. I hate the sun, but that's nothing new, so let's talk about something else.

Today I managed to get a Jakarta Tomcat Server running on my Laptop. It wasen't as difficult as I thought it would be. Thanks ubuntu.
I also installed eclipse again. Developers allready now what I am going to do now. Right - I will develop some Java webapplications. Just for fun. Maybe I will set a little webserver with a database up today. Might be usefull for my webapps, but this depens on how much power I will have left when I come home in the evening.

P.S.: Just for those who want to know - I have redesigned my Ubuntu desktop. Have a look.

light on the horizont

So it's friday. Finally. This week was really not easy for me. I still feel that I slept to less in the last 10 days. Always tired and so much to do at work. I like it when there is much to do, but I hate it when nothing seems to work like I want it to.
But I can allready smell the air of peace and freedom. Weekend is coming closer to me. Just a few hours and my sweety walks up the stairs on the railway-station where I pick her up. Today I haven't planed anything else, I just want to relax. Tomorrow it's getting a bit more busy. At 11AM - and that's very early for a saturday - I am allready on the way to the lake with my sweety and a good friend. Than in the evening I plan to cook for some friends. Asian Style. I'll give my best and hope that they will like it.
I am really looking forward for a glas of the Red Breast Wiskey my little angel gave to me for birthday. I don't think I will do something great today, I think I will sleep a lot, with my angel by my side.

Tuesday, June 20, 2006

hot as hell

I think my brain is allready burned because of this unbelieveable heat. I am sitting in my office at work and nearly swimming in my own sweat. The weather station says that the temperature is about 30 degrees C, but it feels so much hotter. When I am looking out of the window I can't see a single cloud, just blue sky and the sun. It is hard to work under this conditions.
Where is my mind? It's swimming in sweat and it's screaming for help. When I get home today, the first thing I will do is to take a cold shower.

Monday, June 19, 2006

inside the nova

As the sun was touching the horizont on this evening my mind was free and there was nothing to worry about. I arrived just a few hours before with a 60kg bagpack filled with clothes, food, beer and other stuff like a torch and batteries and a tent. I was totaly exhausted after this journey from klagenfurt to nickelsdorf, but I in this moment sitting in the gras with a beer in my hand and my sweety next to me I was happy like I haven't been for a long time.
This night we went to the partyzone to celebrate our arrival. When we got back to our tent late at night it was freezing cold. I slept like a baby next to my sweety. We thought we could sleep till 1 PM or so, but at 8 AM the sun was so hot that it was impossible to stay in the tent.
So we got out and walk around through the area. It was great to see how much people there were. About 150.000, living in tents or caravans. The red stage was very close to us and the the blue one was just a few minutes of walking away.
In the evening we saw the Queens of the stoneage and Metalica and it was so great I can't even believe it right now.
Sabrina, Hansi, my girlfriend's sister, my sweety and me had a great time.
Every day was a new great experience. All this people, bands like Apocalyptica, Guns'n'Roses, Deus and many more. I think I had a time I will never forget. I don't know how I can make you understand what I mean. So I think pictures are telling more than words.

Sweety, if you read this, I just want to say and I want everybody to know, that I love you more than anything else I know and that I am so happy that I was able to spent these days with you. It was such a great time being so close to you at such a great place. I'll never let you go.

absolut linux

Ubuntu forever. Ok let's say for the moment. Today I installed Ubuntu 6.06 LTS on my laptop as the only OS on it. It is really amazing how fast you can format your pc and install a fully working ubuntu with every software you need. No troubles, no complications, no windows. I love it.
Also my desktop got a whole new look, but I think this will change every two weeks or so. A bit more blue this time. Also the games like ut2004 and WarCraft III are allready working. I think really everyone should give Ubuntu a try, because if you got used to it, there is nothing better.

happy birthday to me!

So finally it's the 12th of june and I am 19 now. Real unspectacular. I am not excited. Everything feels like yesterday, nothing changed. That's not bad folks, I am happy about that. I don't want anything to change, because what more can i expect than having everything I want?
I don't want to look back now, the last year was really extraordenary, but I think I've said enough about it.

Just say, I feel lucky to be me, no matter how old I am.

unreal

Dear Blog!

Today I feel kind of unreal, because all the things happening to me at the moment and all the things that will happen to me in the next few days are so unbelieveable.

Sorry for that, but I always wanted to start an entry like that.

Lets begin with the less importent things.

unreal tournament
Ubuntu suprises me every day. I never thought i could install a 3d game just like with Windows and then run it and it works perfektly using linux. Unreal Tournament 2004 does. It has a grafical Linux installer which installs the game like the Windows installer. Then you edit a single file to have fullscreen ( I had to change 4 numbers in the file - every monkey can do that ) and the game works perfectly. I love my Ubuntu.

Now let's get to the more importent things.

unreal age
I am nearly 19 now. There are just 4 days left, than I am not 18 anymore. This year the feeling isn't that strange as it was last year. Getting 18 was very scary. Don't ask me why. I feel good about getting 19 and I am feeling very happy about getting 19 with my sweety by my side. She makes me the happiest guy alive. And that's what feels unreal. Unreal good.

unreal rock
Next wednesday at 10:45 I will walk into a train which will bring me, my sweety and some of my friends to the novarock festival. I am so excited. Metallica, Queens of the Stoneage, Guns'n'Roses, Appocalyptica and many more. LIVE! This will be a great time. Sleeping in a tent, party all the time. That's what I need. Unreal perfect.

the drake has landed

Finnally Ubuntu 6.06 LTS "Dapper Drake" is here and it is the greatest OS I've ever seen. It supports nearly every possible hardware ( in fact a lot more than I need ) runs fast and stable and If you spend some time in styling it, it looks extremly great and there a so many possibilities how you can style your Gnome-Desktop.

Corner xmms, icons looking like glass, startup-bars, dynamic 3d desktop switcher, transperant system watchers, moving 3d cursor and all that in a system which runs stable and free of critical errors, blue screen, viruses and all that stuff microsoft sells to us.

But the most surprising thing for me was that even one of my favourit games (WarCraft3) works perfectly (in fact even better, because on ubuntu i got widescreen. I don't have this with windows)

I just can tell every one to use Ubuntu instead of Windows, because it is simply better. Try it and you understand me. Just for them, who want to play newer games it can be tricky, because games aren't the strengh of linux at the moment (but i believe this will change in the following years) I solved this problem by having a windows and a Ubuntu/Linux system installed on my pc, but in my case Windows is really just used for gaming newer games and nothing else. for work, home office, grafix, internet, multimedia and everything else I use Linux. Because the software is better, a lot safer and the best thing about it - It's free. So give it a try and believe me, when you got used to it, you will love it.
